HAVE YOUR OWN FARM!

What's a "farm"?

The term "farm" is used to refer to an OAI-PMH Server that is ready to be harvested and, thus, will serve your metadata information when it is prompted to do so.

OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) is a standard widely used by digital libraries and other repositories. Maybe your organization is already using it and, if so, you can just place your metadata files there.

Look at some sample farms!:
» The farm @ Universitat Pompeu Fabra
» The farm @ Universidade de Vigo
» The farm @ Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea
» The farm @ Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya
more...

And, can I have my own OAI-PMH Server?

Yes, you can as long as you have access to a computer connected to the Internet. For The Harvesting Day we have prepared an easy-to-install package.

So, how do I install the OAI-PMH Server?

Box_download_48 Download Your Farm. Version 1.2 (16-June-2010)
